Chris Owens Injury: Falcons DB Has Concussion

Atlanta Falcons defensive back Chris Owens suffered a concussion during Atlanta's Monday night win over the Denver Broncos, and is unlikely to play in Week 3's contest against the San Diego Charges.

Per The Falcoholic, SB Nation's Falcons blog:

So the bad news first. Chris Owens is going through the concussion protocol, which means he's quite likely to be formally diagnosed very soon, if he hasn't been already, and will sit out the Chargers game. Obviously, the Falcons got it done without him on Monday night, but it further dents the depth of a squad that could use a little more of it. The Falcons now only have four healthy cornerbacks on the active roster, and one of them is Dominique Franks.

Atlanta's secondary has taken a beating, losing Brent Grimes for the season last week, and now losing Owens to a concussion this week.

Hopefully, for both Owens' and Atlanta's sake, Owens makes a speedy and full recovery from his concussion.
