NFL Power Rankings: Atlanta Falcons Are No. 13

Stay connected for news and updates

SB Nation's first NFL power rankings of the year are out, and the Atlanta Falcons have been ranked No. 13 by the gurus at SBNation.com.

Though the middle-of-the-pack rank might seem fairly high, the Falcons are the seventh-ranked team in the NFC. The New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles are all ranked ahead of the Falcons.

Here's what the folks over at SB Nation had to say about the Falcons:

Some people seem to be forgetting Atlanta. It [...] could be the last productive year for Michael Turner. Tony Gonzalez is likely gone. There's still plenty of talent but 2012 makes sense as its year.

Falcons fans can look forward to an aerial assault from Matt Ryan and company, and perhaps a breakout year from second-year wide receiver Julio Jones.
