BMW Championship 2012: Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson Hold One Stroke Lead

Stay connected for news and updates

Phil Mickelson thrust himself into a share with Vijay Singh of the top spot of the leaderboard going into the final day of the tightly contested BMW Championship.

Mickelson his 8-under on the day to jump up 12 spots to sit at 16-under overall with Singh. That lead is a small one though, as Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy sit one stroke back after 4-under and 3-under days.

Adam Scott and Robert Garrigus both went 6-under on the day to take a tie for 15th place with Dustin Johnson, two strokes behind Mickelson and Singh.

Tiger Woods and Ryan Moore both opened Saturday's round only one stroke behind Singh, but both struggled in the third round action. Woods was only 1-under to drop down to eighth place at 13-under, and Moore hit 1-over to land himself tied for 12th place.
