Braves-Giants NLDS Game 4 Score: 3-2 Giants, Mid Seventh

Stay connected for news and updates

The seventh was the noisiest and most dramatic of the night to date. Derek Lowe left the game with the bases loaded, and the Braves couldn’t pick him up, so he’d now be on the hook for the loss if the score holds up. After the play below in which Moylan appears to have recorded an out (but gets no credit), Jonny Venters came on to strike out Juan Uribe. Cody Ross once again came through with a big hit for the Giants, pulling a Venters slider through the hole on the left side to drive in a run.

Pat Burrell, possibly the only man in this series as slow as Brian McCann, tried and failed to score from second on the play, with a great throw from Matt Diaz nailing him at the plate. Brian McCann held onto the ball through the collision to limit the damage to one run on the play. Braves need to engineer another rally to get back into this one.
