Phillies Vs. Braves Score: Game Tied At Two Through Six As Pitchers Battle

After the Braves took the lead in the fourth, the Phillies came back with two in the sixth on a two-run homer by John Mayberry Jr. The Braves answered in the home half with a run to tie the game at two through six.

The Braves used two broken bat singles by Dan Uggla and Eric Hinske in the fourth to set up an infield single by Freddie Freeman off Roy Halladay's glove to plate Uggla, scoring the first run of the game.

However, the Phillies answered in the sixth when Tim Hudson began to show signs of command issues. Hudson walked the leadoff batter, and after getting two outs, Mayberry hit a two-run homer on a pitch left up, giving the Phillies the 2-1 lead.

The same combination struck for the Braves in the sixth when Uggla walked to lead off the inning and moved to third on a single by Hinske. After a second straight Alex Gonzalez strikeout with a runner on third, Freeman again picked him up with a sac fly to plate Uggla to tie the game at two.

Hudson has allowed two runs on four hits in six innings, walking five and striking out three. He dealt with what appeared to be a nagging leg issue at one point, and I'm sure he has felt it ever since. He entered the seventh inning at 98 pitches and continues to pitch.

Halladay has allowed two runs on seven hits in six innings, walking one and striking out six. He is at 91 pitches through six. All seven hits allowed were singles, and most were not hard hit, so the Braves have been fortunate to get what they have.
