Brian McCann has become one of the more noteworthy crunch-time hitters in baseball, Saturday night adding a three-run, extra-innings homer to power the Atlanta Braves past the Houston Astros. The shot assured the Braves of pushing their winning streak to five games and keeping a little pressure on the Philadelphia Phillies.
MLB.com has video of McCann's bomb.
Also note how many Braves fans there were at Minute Maid Park -- looked the same Friday night, too. The borders of Braves Country apparently extend even farther than we usually claim they do. Fair enough.
With two more against the Astros before a nine-game home stand and then a series against the San Diego Padres, June could continue being a very good month for the Braves. Especially if one or two pieces of the starting outfield actually trickle their way back into the lineup.
