Chipper Jones Leg Injury An Adductor Strain; Braves 3B Day-To-Day

Somebody said Thursday night was the most NL East night in recent memory, with the New York Mets losing a game in hilarious fashion and Chipper Jones getting hurt. And we wouldn't have it any other way, unless if there's a way that doesn't involve Chipper getting hurt. Let me start over.

Jones appeared to injure his leg in the seventh inning after running from first to third during a Brian McCann single. He left the game in the top of the ninth with something called an adductor strain, getting a shot at the top of his leg. He's now day-to-day, with a disabled list stint unlikely.

Chipper tortured the Mets before having to leave, as is custom. He belted a three-run homer and knocked home two other runners to tie his single-game RBI career-high. Diory Hernandez took over and scored the winning run on a D.J. Carrasco balk.

A month ago, a torn meniscus knocked Jones out of two games.
