Jack Wilson Out 4-6 Weeks With Calf Strain

Stay connected for news and updates

Atlanta Braves SS Jack Wilson has suffered a right calf strain that will keep him out of action for the next 4-6 weeks:

The Braves re-signed Wilson, a 10-year veteran, to a one-year contract in the off-season to be a reserve middle infielder.

An All-Star for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2004, Atlanta acquired the 6'0 190 shortstop for a player to be named later in August of last year from the Seattle Mariners.

In 79 games for the Braves and the Mariners last season, he hit .243/.274/.285 with 11 RBI's.

If the timetable for his recovery is correct, the injury will force Wilson to miss the rest of training camp as well as the first week of the season.
