Atlanta Braves Tie Marlins 2-2 As Mike Minor Continues To Dominate

The Atlanta Braves avoided their seventh straight loss on Tuesday afternoon agains the Miami Marlins, but they also were not able to pick up their second victory of Spring Training, either. The two clubs played 10 innings and finished with a 2-2 tie.

Mike Minor made the start and continued to be the best starter on the team this spring, working four innings of one-hit ball. The lefty struck out four batters and only walked one. Through three starts, Minor has yet to allow a run. It's pretty safe to say he has guaranteed himself a spot in the starting rotation and may honestly be the best pitcher on the team come Opening Day.

Kris Medlen worked two scoreless innings and continued to impress. Anthony Varvaro got hit around a bit and blew an early 1-0 lead for the Braves, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk. Erik Cordier did a nice job in relief of Varvaro and recorded a strikeout to get out of a bases loaded jam.

Brian McCann drove in a run for the Braves with an RBI-single in the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1 in the ninth, top-catching prospect Christian Bethancourt belted a solo-home run to tie the game. The 20-year-old catching prospect is now 4-for-10 in Spring Training with a double and homer.

Neither side scored in the 10th before the game was called.

Hey, at least the Braves didn't lose, right?
