Livan Hernandez To Atlanta Braves: Former World Series MVP Signs, According To Report

The Atlanta Braves are signing 37-year-old right-handed pitcher Livan Hernandez, who was just released by the Houston Astros after signing a minor league deal with the club in January.

Hernandez will certainly bring extra experience to the Braves roster, since Hernandez is a 16-year veteran who won the 1997 NLCS and World Series MVP awards with the Florida Marlins.

He spent last season with the Washington Nationals where had an 8-13 record with a 4.47 ERA in 29 starts. While Hernandez is a two-time All-Star, he he hasn't had a winning season since 2008, when he was 13-11 and split the year between the Minnesota Twins and Colorado Rockies.

Heyman also made the interesting point of Hernandez not being able to stick in Houston, but managing to find an even better situation.
