Atlanta Braves Sign Reliever Chad Durbin

According to SB Nation's Atlanta Braves blog, Talking Chop, the Braves have added veteran right-handed reliever Chad Durbin to their roster. Durbin was released by the Washington Nationals earlier this week and over the past 12 years, he has spent time with the Phillies, Diamondbacks, Tigers and Royals.

The guys at Talking Chop seem to be pretty high on the move:

Decent pick up, he's probably south of the Linebrink line, but has traditionally been a serviceable reliever. He was with the Phillies during three of their postseason runs from 2008 to 2010, and appeared in all three postseasons and both of their World Series appearances during that time.

Durbin is 34 years old and in his 12-year career, he has played in 364 games, starting in 75, allowing 430 earned runs, giving up 110 home runs, walking 328 but striking out 512. He has a record of 38-46 and he has a career ERA of 5.10 with a WHIP of 1.51.
