Chipper Jones could make his 2012 season debut on Tuesday against the Houston Astros

The Braves could be one step closer to getting a much needed shot in the arm for their offense. Chipper Jones had a good workout prior to Monday's game and could be activated before Tuesday's game.

Atlanta's offense struggled mightily in the opening series against the New York Mets and badly need Chipper's bat back in the lineup. Once Chipper is activated all signs point to outfielder Jose Constanza being sent down to Triple A Gwinnett.

Jones has been out of action since the middle of March after having arthroscopic surgery on his knee to repair a torn meniscus.
