Braves Trade Minor League Infielder Drew Sutton To Pirates

Stay connected for news and updates

According to a report by Pirates beat writer Rob Biertempfel the Atlanta Braves have traded minor league infielder Drew Sutton to Pittsburgh for cash considerations.

Sutton competed for a bench job in spring training and was at Triple-A Gwinnett where he was hitting .270 at the time of the deal. He was though of to provide utility infield depth should the Braves suffer any injuries to their middle infielders along the way.

Sutton has played in career games for three different teams in the majors. He was last seen in the big leagues with the Boston Red Sox last season. Sutton has a career average of .258 in 159 at bats since the 2009 season.
