The Braves have not played well at Great American Ballpark in recent years and that trend continued this week as the club played four games in Cincinnati. Despite pretty strong pitching performances from each of the starts, the Braves, who were without Chipper Jones and Brian McCann for the whole series, scored a total of eight runs against a decent Reds pitching staff.
Miss any of the games? Here is a recap of each:
Monday night featured Mike Minor and Mike Leake, and the Reds came away with a 4-1 victory aided by back-to-back-to-back homers.
Game two of the series saw MLB's ERA leader take the mound, but Brandon Beachy surrendered three home runs as the Braves fell by a score of 4-3.
Atlanta and Cincinnati were tied at 1-1 for most of the game on Wednesday evening, but a walk-off homer from Todd Frazier secured a 2-1 win for the Reds.
In the series finale with Jones, McCann and Freddie Freeman out of the lineup, the Braves struggled to score runs yet again against Homer Bailey as they fell by a score of 6-3.
Next up for the Braves: the club finally gets to return home to Turner Field to take on the NL East leading Washington Nationals for three games.
