After breaking an eight-game losing streak, the Braves find themselves just two games out of first in the NL East.
In most MLB divisions, a .500 record will usually get you in the middle of the division standings. Despite a 28-24 record, the Braves sit in fourth place in the NL East.
The Braves endured an eight-game losing streak that saw them tumble down the standings, but they won the final two games in a series against the Cardinals and appear to have leveled the ship.
The NL East is one of the most-balanced divisions in baseball. Despite being in fourth place, the Braves are just two games behind the first-place Washington Nationals (29-21). Behind the Nats are the Marlins (29-22) and the Mets (28-23) The fifth-place Phillies are just three games back at 27-25.
The Braves will have a chance to make up ground when they travel to Washington to begin a three-game series on Friday.
