2012 Braves Roster: Atlanta Recalls Cory Gearrin, Options Julio Teheran Back To Gwinnett

Stay connected for news and updates

Following Sunday's loss to the Toronto Blue Jays the Atlanta Braves announced that they had optioned Julio Teheran back to Triple A Gwinnett and had called up reliever Cory Gearrin.

Teheran was up to make a spot start with the Braves to give Tim Hudson a few extra days to get over an ankle issue he is having. Gearrin is 3-0 with a 1.65 ERA and seven saves at Gwinnett. He has experienced great command in 2012 striking out 38 batters in just 32 2/3 innings while walking eight.
