Freddie Freeman was 1-for-2 in Wednesday night's Braves win over the Miami Marlins, but another injury could have him back out of the lineup. Freeman, who missed time with dryness of the eyes so severe that it caused him to be unable to wear contacts (and thus unable to see in the batter's box), was hit in the left index finger on a relay throw when he as sliding into second in the fourth inning.

The AJC is reporting that Freeman will undergo X-rays on Thursday to determine if the finger is broken. Without Freeman, as well as veteran Chipper Jones, the Braves struggled offensively in late May. The first baseman has been a reliable offensive weapon - when he can see. He hit .364, with six homers and 25 RBIs before suffering corneal abrasions due to the dry, windy conditions of Coors Field in Colorado May 4-6. For the next 19 games, Freeman hit .164 as he dealt with various failed remedies - prescription eyedrops, custom made glasses - to solve his vision issues.
