The Atlanta Braves swept their first trip to visit the Miami Marlins in their new stadium this week, with two of the three games becoming blowouts by the end of nine innings. The Marlins were the best team in baseball during the month of May and Atlanta did a great job containing their sluggers in the middle of their lineup.
Stat of the Series: The Braves' starting pitchers, Tim Hudson, Randall Delgado and Mike Minor, combined to post this line against one of the National League's better lineups: 20.1 innings, 2 runs, 9 walks, 14 strikeouts. That's absolutely superb. Each of the starters also added a win to their record.
Hudson was brilliant in game one and Dan Uggla's two home runs led Atlanta to a 11-0 victory.
The second game of the series was the only close one. Delgado was great for 6.1 innings and some timely hitting early in the game led the Braves to a 2-1 win.
