The Atlanta Braves have signed veteran right hander Ben Sheets to a minor league deal. Sheets will report to Double-A Mississippi and will make his first start on July 4.
The Atlanta Braves announced on Sunday that they have signed veteran starting pitcher Ben Sheets to a minor league deal. Sheets will report to Double-A Mississippi and will make his first start with the club on July 4.

Sheets set the Twitter world on fire when he appeared in the Braves bullpen wearing an Atlanta uniform before an official announcement was made. Sheets is 33 years old and last appeared in the Majors in 2012 with the Oakland A's. Sheets went 4-9 for the A's in 2010 before an elbow injury sidelined him for the entire 2011 season.
