2012 MLB All-Star Game: Chipper Jones Singles In First At-Bat

Stay connected for news and updates

Playing in what will be the final All-Star Game of his career, Chipper Jones came up to the plate in the sixth inning as the National League's new DH. Chipper received a roaring standing ovation from the sellout crowd in Kansas City, and the familiar tune of 'Thunderstruck' was played as he strolled to the plate. For a Braves fan, it doesn't get much better than that.

Jones took the first pitch he saw from rookie Chris Sale and grounded it towards second baseman Ian Kinsler. Despite very little speed on the ball, it managed to just sneak under Kinsler's glove and into right field. The crowd cheered as Chipper reached first.

The National League has completely dominated the 2012 All-Star Game thus far. They currently leads 8-0 in the seventh inning.
