Jonny Venters Injury: Braves Reliever 'Feels Great' After Throwing Session

Stay connected for news and updates

Jonny Venters picked up a baseball for the first time on Wednesday since going on the disabled list on July 5. He threw another session on Thursday at a team workout as the Braves prepare to start the second half of the season. Venters reported no problems with his elbow and hopefully the rest will help get him off to a strong start in the second half.

"My arm felt great," Venters said. "[The ball] felt like it was coming out good. I was excited."

Venters was placed on the DL with what was termed an "impingement" in his elbow. No doubt his workload over the last two seasons hasn't helped his struggles but perhaps some much needed rest and clear head will get him back on track in the second half.
