After just about every baseball source in the country reported the Atlanta Braves had reached a deal to acquire Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster, word slowly came that the deal wasn't approved. Most figured it was a matter of approving money or a final prospect or two, but then this interesting twist came:

That's Ryan Dempster's Twitter account. It is not verified by Twitter, but it looks to be legit.

As for now it looks like there is no deal. These things are bound to change at any moment, but just minutes ago Ryan Dempster walked into the Cubs clubhouse and no deal had been reached. According to Randall Delgado's agent, they haven't heard of any trades.

We'll keep you updated. There's still a chance the trade is made eventually, but it might not be today.
