The proposed trade by the Atlanta Braves to land pitcher Ryan Dempster appears that it could be faltering. Doug Padilla, who covers the team for ESPN 1000 in Chicago and for ESPNChicago.com is reporting that Dempster showed up to the Cubs' dugout again in preparation for their game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Dempster in the Cubs clubhouse. Deal w Braves looks to be dying on the vine.

While this is a bit discouraging for Braves fans, that this trade could wind up not happening, the Cubs are still discussing trade options for Dempster with the Braves, but the Los Angeles Dodgers are another team that could come in and scoop Dempster up for themselves. And even Jayson Stark has tweeted that the Dempster trade should be resolved sooner rather than later.
One source says status of Dempster-to-Braves deal should be resolved "shortly." In the meantime, Cubs still talking to both Braves & Dodgers

There's more to come until this is fully resolved, so keep an eye for any other updates.
