Chipper Jones has done it all in his career with the Braves. He's won a World Series, claimed a National League MVP trophy, has played in every ballpark, should be a first ballot hall of famer, etc. etc. We could go on about our wonderful third baseman all day long.
#Braves Chipper 1,042 extra-base hits now, moves ahead of Pete Rose into 2nd on all-time extra-base hits list for switch-hitters— David O'Brien (@ajcbraves) July 29, 2012
Not too bad for a day's work.
For all Chipper has accomplished over the years, his production at the age of 40 is just absolutely unreal. He's been the Braves' best and most consistent player all season long; when was the last time any team could say that about a man who's been in baseball for nearly two decades?
