The Atlanta Braves are getting another player to the National League All-Star team as center fielder Michael Bourn is replacing the injured Washington Nationals shortstop Ian Desmond. Desmond is missing the All-Star game due to an oblique injury which has been bothering him since the middle of June. Bourn was one of the finalist for the MLB fan vote, but he came up in third place in the voting.
This will be Bourn's second appearance in an All-Star game during his seven-year career. The last time Bourn was an All-Star came in 2010 when he was a member of the Houston Astros.
Bourn is a deserving player for this year's All-Star game since he is hitting .305, has 32 RBI and stolen 23 bases so far.
