The Braves start a four-game series against the Giants on Thursday night.
The Atlanta Braves are traveling across the country to start a four-game series against the San Francisco Giants on Thursday. Both teams are looking to solidify their spot in the playoff hunt -- the Braves are tied with the St. Louis Cardinals for top Wild Card spot while the Giants are leading the NL West by 1.5 games.
The Braves are looking to regroup after going 1-2 against the Washington Nationals in their last series, and 1-4 over their last five games. To stop the bleeding, the Braves are sending out Tommy Hanson to the mound, who is 12-5 this year, and he will be matched up against Barry Zito, who is struggling this year with a 9-8 record.
