The Braves look to close in on a playoff spot against the Phillies.

With less then 15 games remaining in the regular season, the Atlanta Braves travel to take on the Philadelphia Phillies in the first of a three-game set Friday. The Braves are looking to solidify their playoff spot, and the Phillies look to gain ground for a spot of their own.

The Braves enter the final week and a half of the season 8.5 games clear of the first team out of the Wild Card race, and send Tommy Hanson to the mound to move closer to clinching a playoff spot.

The Phillies, on the other hand, start the final stretch of the season still outside of the playoff picture looking in, still more than four games out of the second and final playoff spot. Philadelphia sends Kyle Kendrick, who has won five of his last seven decisions, to the mound.

The Braves enter the series having won five of their last six.
