Daniel Shirey-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Atlanta Braves sent minor league pitcher Greg Ross to the Detroit Tigers to complete their trade for utility man Jeff Baker.

The Atlanta Braves completed their trade for utility man Jeff Baker by sending low-A right-hander Greg Ross to the Detroit Tigers, reports Braves blog Talking Chop. The trade, made Aug. 31, was for a player to be named later, making Ross the only man involved in the exchange.

Rose was drafted in the 18th round of the 2011 MLB Draft. While a starter with the single-A Rome Braves, Ross threw 131 innings, posting a 4.60 ERA along with a 1.420 WHIP.

Baker has seen limited action with Atlanta, getting only two starts and 10 plate appearances. Traditionally an infielder, he has only played in left field. After playing much of his early career with the Colorado Rockies, he has bounced around from the Rockies to the Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers and now the Braves. His major league totals amount to a .267 batting average, .318 on-base percentage, and .430 slugging percentage.
