There has been a lot of discussion this week about the hard hits delivered by defensive players (on defenseless players) with Falcons cornerback, Dunta Robinson at the forefront. He was fined for his hit on DeSean Jackson not because it was a helmet-to-helmet blow but because it was against a defenseless receiver. Lost in all this is the fact that Robinson suffered a concussion of his own and was questionable to play this Sunday. ESPN's Chris Mortensen now confirms what we feared:
The Atlanta Falcons plan to make Dunta Robinson inactive today against the Bengals due to the concussion he suffered last week
Christopher Owens, the nickel back, will get the start with Brian Williams coming into the game in five DB packages. With Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens in town, this is a tough week to be down a defensive back. Curiously, the major additions the Falcons made in the offseason - Dunta Robinson and Sean Weatherspoon - will not play.
