Browns' Safety T.J. Ward Fined For Cheap Shot

Stay connected for news and updates

The Atlanta Falcons' receivers may want to keep their head on a swivel this Sunday. Cleveland Browns' safety T.J. Ward was fined $15,000 for his cheap shot to the head of a defenseless Jordan Shipley during last Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Ward said he was not trying to hurt Shipley but Terrell Owens disagreed. From ESPN:

"A ridiculous play," Bengals receiver Terrell Owens said after the game. "The guy's defenseless. I just hate to see a guy get hit like that in the head. For him to take a cheap shot like that, that's uncalled for.

"At one point, I thought [Shipley] was out cold. His eyes were rolling in the back of his head. You never want to see a teammate in that situation."

We've seen the hit and can only hope the Falcons' receivers will take extra care when in the vicinity of Ward.
