Packers-Falcons Game Update: High-Scoring Offenses Fail To Score TDs In First Quarter

Both the Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers came into this game with high-scoring offenses but it’s their defenses that have come up big in the first quarter. The Falcons settled for a Matt Bryant field goal after a long drive stalled and the Packers answered with a field goal of their own to tie this NFC showdown at three points apiece.

Both teams managed four first downs in the first quarter with the Packers outgaining the Falcons 75 to 62 in total yards. One thing that is becoming clear is the Packers inability to run the ball. Outside of Aaron Rodgers and his scrambles, the Packers can’t move the ball on the ground against the Falcons front four.

If the most balanced offense is the key to victory, then the Falcons will be 9-2 after this but unfortunately it only takes one 80-yard TD pass to Greg Jennings to change the momentum. The second quarter is underway and we’re all tied.
