Matt Ryan Returns From Knee Injury Like Nothing Happened

Stay connected for news and updates

Well, that was quick. After Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan suffered a knee injury by having his ankle crushed beneath Will Svitek (video here), he was taken into the locker room and declared questionable to return. Chris Redman took a couple snaps, then Ryan came jogging out and onto the field.

Matt Ryan and a pair of staff members gave him the once over. He pointed at his knee, reclaimed the saddle from Redman and threw a 49-yarder over the middle to Harry Douglas, then nearly found Tony Gonzalez to enter the red zone. The Falcons wound up with a field goal to make it 20-9.

So ... um ... I guess Matt Ryan is OK. That's pretty good. We'll learn more about his condition after the game. Well-timed bye week, at least.
