Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will not play against the Falcons on Sunday, according to a report by AtlantaFalcons.com's Jay Adams:
Peterson had suffered a high ankle sprain in a loss at home to Oakland last Sunday, and initially told reporters after the game that he would be playing against the Falcons this week. However, multiple reports have downgraded Peterson's status. Despite Minnesota's 2-8 record this season, Peterson has rushed for 872 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Falcons are currently ranked second in the NFL in rushing yardage allowed per game, at 85.4 yards.
