The Atlanta Falcons suffered a brutal loss against the New Orleans Saints on Monday night. The loss came with an inevitable dip in the weekly NFL power rankings.
The Atlanta Falcons are the holders of the No. 6 seed in the NFL postseason. They'll be facing the New Orleans Saints in the opening round of the NFC playoffs. That's the good news. The bad news is that the Falcons were just defeated by the Saints on Monday night in a decidedly lopsided game.
The new SB Nation NFL power rankings for Week 17 have been released. Joel Thorman wonders whether the Falcons may not be quite as good as their 9-6 record suggests.

The Falcons dropped from No. 8 to No. 10 overall but their record and postseason positioning keeps them in the top 10. They'll have an opportunity to pick up one last win and perhaps a final jump in the power rankings as they host a squishy Tampa Bay Buccaneers team in Week 17.
