We've shared links to dozens of complete 2011 NFL mock drafts throughout this StoryStream, but most are by national experts who are also projecting and predicting all 32 teams. How about one made entirely from the Atlanta Falcons fan's perspective?
Dave Choate of The Falcoholic has revealed he's sticking with Georgia Bulldogs pass rusher Justin Houston as his No. 1 overall pick. Click that link for complete writeups of each pick and general discussion, but here's his full mock:
1st Round, 27th pick: DE Justin Houston, Georgia
2nd Round, 59th pick: WR Jerrel Jernigan, Troy
3rd Round, 91st pick: RB Alex Green, Hawaii
4th Round, 124th pick: TE Rob Housler, Florida Altantic
5th Round, 158th pick: LB Mike Mohamed, California
6th Round, 192nd pick: S Joe Lefeged, Rutgers
7th Round, 209th pick: OT David Mims, Virginia Union
7th Round, 229th pick: OG Stephen Schilling, Michigan
7th Round, 230th pick: CB Justin Rogers, Richmond
The Jernigan pick lines up with the general consensus of Atlanta's draft plans, as many other outlets have sent the Troy weapon to the Falcons. And the team is also widely expected to take a running back in round three, along with picking up some value offensive line and secondary help. Based on both national perception and team-specific focus, this is probably about as solid a mock as you'll find. Even though a few of the names will certainly end up off, expect the team's draft to mirror these position groups.
Or expect it to disappear entirely in an A.J. Green trade! Wheeeeeeeee!
