Around the perimeter of the Atlanta sports world.

Seasoned Atlanta Falcons LB Mike Peterson, a veteran of Mike Smith's defensive arrangement, famously took Sean Weatherspoon on as a mentee early in last year's training camp. Spoon quickly earned the nickname "Simba" after dubbing Peterson "Mufasa," perhaps the best-possible alter ego among all alter egos.
After one half-round of Falcons training camp, here's Weatherspoon on whether he's going to try and model a lower-scale arrangement between himself and rookie Akeem Dent, the former Georgia Bulldogs LB:
I wont call myself a veteran, but I kinda try to pull him to the side and tell him little things.
He sits in the seat I sat in last year, and that's right by coach Glenn Pires. Thats right up there in the front. So he knows he's got the eye on him.
Coaches be asking him all kinds of questions. Coach Van Gorder's asking him to call out the defense. He's doing a great job so far. He also sits right by me in special teams meetings, so I do what I can to help out.
It's all about getting in that right mindset to go out there and contribute.
