Falcons Draft Picks 2012: Julio Jones Trade Leaves Birds With Five Picks

The 2012 NFL Draft could help the Falcons recover from their latest disappointment, but with so few picks they'll have to get just about every one right.

This Atlanta Falcons playoff loss would likely be a little easier to take if it was clear the team would be able to shore up its pass blocking and secondary in the April 26 NFL Draft. While Thomas Dimitroff should be able to find some values like Jacquizz Rodgers, Brent Grimes and Harry Douglas later in the draft, he'll have to be nearly perfect to alter this team very much without a first round pick.

The Julio Jones deal gave the Cleveland Browns a handful of picks last year, plus Atlanta's first and fourth this year. That means the Falcons will pick 21st in the other five rounds -- no selections until pick No. fifty-something will make for a long, long draft weekend in these parts.

Multi-round mock drafts are tough to find at this point, but this two-round mock by Mocking the Draft had the Falcons taking Wisconsin Badgers guard Kevin Zeitler in round No. 2 (it's not fun to note Georgia Bulldogs guard Cordy Glenn heads to the Browns with their extra first).
