Channing Crowder Wants To Return With Falcons, Must Bring Anecdotes

Former Miami Dolphins and Florida Gators linebacker Channing Crowder tells D. Orlando Ledbetter he wants to return to the NFL as a member of the Atlanta Falcons after a surprising retirement at age 27. He's played for new Falcons defensive coordinator Mike Nolan before -- meaning he could play a similar role to the one Mike Smith's right-hand-man Mike Peterson has done over the past four years. Crowder says Nolan's told him the Falcons will stay in touch.

Star-divide

Crowder's best season came in 2008, when he started 13 games and tallied 92 tackles.

So with his career (possibly) over, we've seen a few people throwing around some of their best Channing Crowder memories. Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post passed along maybe the most memorable Crowder story:

My Channing Crowder memory: Tells me warm tale abt getting a dog for X-mas. Concludes, "But it bit a cop, so we had to shoot it in the head"
