Falcons Re-Sign Running Back Jason Snelling To Undisclosed Contract

The Atlanta Falcons just officially announced the return of Jason Snelling to the backfield in 2012:

Snelling played the 2011 season on a one-year deal after limited interest as a free agent caused him to resign with the Falcons last season. As the primary backup to Michael Turner, Snelling has rushed for 1,192 yards, caught 107 passes for 827 yards and scored 12 touchdowns since being drafted in the seventh round out of Virginia in 2007.

More: On Snelling signing

Head coach Mike Smith has stated that Turner would used less in the coming 2012 season, likely increasing Snelling's time, as well as rookie Jacquizz Rogers. Snelling's busiest season came in 2009, when he rushed for 600 yards while Turner was injured.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
