Lofa Tatupu, Kendall Langford Could Be Falcons Targets, Reportedly

How about some Atlanta Falcons free agency buzz! After a quiet spell, Friday's been kind to Birds fans thirsting for news. The report that the Falcons are expected to go after Houston Texans terror Mario Williams in free agency was followed shortly after by a pair of items on other defenders.

Former Seattle Seahawks middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu worked out for Atlanta earlier in the day, according to Adam Schefter. He missed the 2011 season with an injury and a reported contract dispute with Seattle, but is a three-time Pro Bowler in his six-year NFL career. He's a bit more versatile against the pass than is Curtis Lofton, and if the team's looking for a Mike who can stay on the field, a player like Tatupu could get the call.

Also, the AJ-C reports the Falcons are interested in Dolphins defensive end Kendall Langford, who played for Mike Nolan in Miami. The Falcoholic points out Langford is a tweener end, too big to play end in the 4-3, and could signal Nolan's intent to offer up fronts a little bit more varied than had first been let on. He's managed a handful of sacks in each of his four seasons, save a limited 2011.
