It's finally official: the Atlanta Falcons have acquired four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for seventh round draft pick, according to Aaron Wilson.

Samuel agreed to restructure his contract earlier on Wednesday, agreeing to a three-year deal with Atlanta worth $18.5 million dollars.

Atlanta will be Samuel's third stop in his NFL career. Samuel was drafted in the fourth round of the 2003 draft by the New England Patriots, where he would appear in three Super Bowls, winning two. Samuel, though, is remembered by a few in New England for dropping a potential game-winning interception in Super Bowl XLII.

Following Super Bowl XLII, Samuel left New England and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. His role was diminished in 2011, though, because of the acquisitions of Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie.

With this move, Samuel is reunited with Thomas Dimitroff, who was with the Patriots when Samuel was drafted in 2003.
