2012 NFL Draft: Falcons Select DT Travian Robertson With No. 249

With the 249th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons selected Travian Robertson, a defensive tackle from South Carolina. Robertson was a fifth-year senior at South Carolina who was a key interior defender in the teams 2011 season.

He has played against top-notch talent in the SEC which will have prepared him for the NFL, and is extremely strong and has great hand technique which helps him immobilize offensive lineman.

Robertson is more of a one-dimensional player who has difficulty making plays by himself and has trouble getting into the backfield, which is why he was selected near the end of the draft. To make the team Robertson will likely be battling for one of the backup interior lineman spots.
