John Abraham is the definition of a veteran NFL player - the 34-year-old has played 13 seasons and just resigned with the Falcons for three more years, likely his last in the league. One sticking point of that deal? It's got a relatively low base of $16 million, $7 million of that in roster bonuses reliant on Abe staying healthy in those three seasons.
Hence, when a rookie tight end makes a block Abraham considers questionably low - in a June minicamp practice no less - young Adam Nissley is going to hear about it (courtesy of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution):
Abraham, who skipped the voluntary organized team activities, got into a scuffle with rookie tight end Adam Nissley when he went too low on a block.
"What the [expletive] is wrong with you," Abraham said after he pulled off Nissley’s helmet, and the skirmish was broken up.
Welcome to the league, Mr. Nissley. Let's shift that motor down a gear, eh?
