2012 Falcons Offseason: Jerry Rice Expects Julio Jones To Have Breakout Year

Stay connected for news and updates

Jerry Rice knows something about wide receivers. So when he says on Sportscenter that Julio Jones should have a breakout season, that should get Falcons fans excited.

From Pro Football Talk:

"I love this kid," said Rice. "He's awesome. He's big, he's fast. ... I think he's gonna have a breakout season this coming year."

Jones had a solid rookie season out of Alabama, bringing in 54 catches for 959 yards and eight touchdowns, despite missing three games. The Falcons took a risk moving up to select Jones with the No. 6 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, but the move appears to be paying off.

With a new offensive coordinator in Atlanta, PFT believes more short routes could help Jones become a more versatile weapon.
