The Falcons land at No. 10 on the SB Nation NFL power rankings, but rank much higher at ESPN and CBS Sports.
After their convincing 30-10 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Atlanta Falcons landed among the top third of many NFL power rankings this week, including at No. 10 on SBNation.com's own power rankings.
Up three spots from their preseason rank at No. 13, the Falcons landed just behind the Chicago Bears at No. 9 and just ahead of the No. 11 New Orleans Saints. SB Nation NFL editor Joel Thorman saw the Falcons first performance as a possible sign of things to come.
10. Atlanta Falcons (LW: 13, 1-0): Scoring on your first eight possessions to open the season is alright. The Falcons punted once in a 40-point beat down against the Chiefs in their own place, Arrowhead. The Matt Ryan/Mike Smith combination has yet to win a playoff game. This sure looks like the team to break that trend.
Over at CBSSports.com, the Falcons got considerably more love, as Pete Prisco ranked Atlanta at No. 3, behind only the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens.
At ESPN, the Falcons landed at No. 6, as Mike Sando highlighted Ryan's performance as a sign that the team had become less run oriented.
