The Atlanta Falcons worked out Marlin Jackson and Syd'quan Thompson, defensive backs who have seen limited action in the NFL.

The Atlanta Falcons worked out two defensive backs, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The team evaluated Marlin Jackson and Syd'quan Thompson on Tuesday, doing their part to make sure they're staying on top of the free agent market.

Jackson was originally drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played with the Colts through the 2009 season, starting 32 out of the 56 games he appeared in. He has 4 career interceptions.

Thompson was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He saw action in 13 games in the 2010 season, collecting two interceptions. He missed the entire 2011 season with a ruptured Achilles tendon and was released by Denver in the roster cuts leading to the 2012 regular season.

With cornerback Brent Grimes out for the rest of the season, Atlanta is looking for depth in the secondary.
