Joe Johnson was still waiting for results on his injured elbow on Wednesday morning. As a result, the Atlanta Hawks guard missed the team's shootaround ahead of their evening tilt against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The perennial All-Star's elbow started to bother him the past few days and had diagonostic tests on it on it on Tuesday. The injury is said not to be related to Johnson's poor shooting of late. He has just one 20-point game in his last seven contests. Johnson is averaging just 12.6 points per game on 34-percent shooting from the field in those games.
He could be sorely missed. Johnson had a team-leading 22-points against Memphis in the season-opener up on Beale Street. The Grizzlies have dropped four straight at Philips Arena dating back to 2005.
