Wizards Vs. Hawks Score: Joe Johnson Leads Atlanta To 26-17 Lead Over Washington

The Atlanta Hawks didn't waste any time in picking up right where they left off Tuesday night jumping out to a 26-17 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Hawks started the game with a quick 11-0 run highlighted by three-point buckets from Marvin Williams, Jeff Teague and Joe Johnson. Atlanta hit their first five attempts from beyond the arc with Johnson making three.

Jeff Teague picked up his second foul of the quarter with 5:57 remaining in the quarter and Atlanta's offense ground to a halt until Tracy McGrady hit a jumper with just over three minutes remaining. Joe Johnson scored a team-high nine points in the first. Jeff Teague, Marvin Williams and Tracy McGrady all finished the quarter with five points each.

John Wall helped pull the Wizards back to within shouting distance with a game-high 10 points. Washington shot just 28 percent in the first and committed six turnovers.
