The red-hot first place Hawks land in San Antonio Wednesday night, where they haven't won in fifteen years.
The Atlanta Hawks (13-5) haven't defeated the San Antonio Spurs (11-7) on the road in fifteen years - Atlanta's dropped 13 in a row when visiting the Spurs in San Antonio, and are 4-21 against the Spurs in their last 25 meetings.
But the Hawks are hot, winning six of their last seven games to take over first place in the Southeast division. Joe Johnson has averaged 25.3 points in those six victories, and Josh Smith had an impressive 19 points and 13 rebounds in a win over the Bucks Monday night. Atlanta should also get Kurt Hinrich back from a shoulder injury on Wednesday. He averaged 8.6 points and 3.3 assists in 24 games with the Hawks since arriving from the Wizards last February.
