Hawks Vs. Bucks: Atlanta Falls In Milwaukee Despite Another Huge Night From Josh Smith

Josh Smith finished with 30 points and 18 rebounds but the Atlanta Hawks fell to the Milwaukee Bucks 108-101.

Hawks Vs. Bucks Final Score: Atlanta Runs Out Of Gas In Milwaukee 108-101

After making a comeback and taking a lead in the third quarter, the Atlanta Hawks ran out of gas late and fall to Milwaukee 108-101. Atlanta erased a nine point halftime deficit by outscoring the Bucks 33-23 in the third quarter. However, this time around they couldn't sustain it as Monta Ellis put the Hawks down for good with his best night since being traded to Milwaukee.

For Atlanta, Josh Smith put up more dazzling numbers. 30 points, 18 rebounds, five assists on 14-26 shooting in 39 minutes of action. Once again he was the best player on the floor but needed a little more help this time around. Ivan Johnson scored a career high 17 points off the bench and Jeff Teague finished with 15 points and seven assists but was also saddled with seven turnovers.

Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams finish with 11 points each while Kirk Hinrich rounds out Atlanta scorers in double figures with 10. Johnson had a tough go of it after leaving the game to get stitches after taking an inadvertent elbow from Zaza Pachulia. Johnson finished just 4-14 from the field but did have eight assists in the game. Atlanta turned the ball over 21 times and Milwaukee took advantage of the extra opportunities.

Monta Ellis turned in his best night since joining the Bucks finishing with 33 points and eight assists. Brandon Jennings added 16 points and six assists while Drew Gooden added 16 points and five rebounds. Mike Dunleavy chipped in 13 points off the bench for the Bucks.

Hawks Vs. Bucks Score: Atlanta Trailing In Milwaukee 55-46 At Halftime

The Atlanta Hawks ran into a spirited Milwaukee Bucks team and were a step slow defensively but rallied late to trail 55-46 at halftime. Atlanta was its own worst enemy in the first half as they turned the ball over 14 times while the Bucks had just five giveaways.

The Hawks trailed by as many as 16 points in the first half but were able to rally late and get the deficit down to a manageable nine points at halftime. Josh Smith led the comeback effort with 17 points and 11 rebounds at halftime. Marvin Williams came off the bench to score nine points and Kirk Hinrich has seven.

Joe Johnson played just 11 minutes in the first half after being hit in the mouth by an inadvertent elbow from Zaza Pachulia that required stitches.

Monta Ellis leads the Bucks with 12 points and Brandon Jennings has 11 points and three steals. Drew Gooden and Mike Dunleavy added 10 points each.
